---------------------------------------------------------------- DRAFT letter to Michael Arcuri your
name date Congressman Michael Arcuri Dear Mr. Arcuri, I am writing to urge you to take immediate and forceful action to prevent escalation of the war in Iraq and to begin prompt and safe withdrawal of our troops from Iraq. I am one of your constituents. I have been talking and meeting with other constituents of yours who feel the same way I do. Many of them have signed a statement that says this: “We, the undersigned, demand that the Administration and the Congress take immediate action to prevent military conflict with Iran, to prevent escalation of the Iraq War, and to commence prompt and safe withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.” I have enclosed copies of some of the petitions they have signed. Many of us who voted for you did so in large part because we believed you would work to end the war in Iraq and bring our troops home. We urge you to take a leadership role in working strongly and immediately toward that goal. Sincerely, ---------------------------------------------------------------- The draft letter shown above was discussed at the meeting of the Iraq/Iran Workgroup of the Coalition for Democracy of Central New York on March 8, 2007.
