Proposed agenda for CfD Health-care Working Group meeting on Friday, February 23, at 5:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church at the corner of Chestnut and Church streets in Oneonta, downstairs in the Coke Room.

Conversation with Kirsten Gillibrand's health-care aide, Jill Greco.
            Sent notes from Dr. Chalfin.
            Agrees health insurers are the problem but doesn't support HR 676 because it covers immigrants
                        (note Nick Albaugh's response)
            Is interested in Pete Stark's proposal and wants to know our response

            Who will look up Stark's proposal and circulate it with critique

Follow-up from last meeting with Rebecca Elgie and Bernie Fetterly
            Interfaith Impact April 23 lobby Day in Albany: should we join?  Who?

            League of women Voters
                        Who will call Kathy LaFontaine to see how we can tie in?

            Physicians for a National Health Program
                        Should we affiliate?  Who will call who to set up?
                        Don McCain: who contact?
                        Joy does a clipping service.  Does someone want to follow up?

            Health-care Now
                        Who will monitor and report back?

            Who will contact Tri-County Central labor Council and see if anyone is working on health care?  Other unions?

Survey
Any feedback on what we said we would pursue:
            Mary will look for other surveys from local hospitals.

            Mary will contact the nursing department at the local colleges and ask for leads sociology departments.

            Kathy will call Kate O'Donnell at Hartwick looking for student volunteers.

            Dave will call Adam Flint in the sociology department at Hartwick.

            Paddy will ask Walter vom Saal about survey and leads for students.

            Kathy will contact the Free Clinic committee to ask them to share their research and find out if they did any surveying.

            Michael will start to draft questions and will consult with Sandra.

            Michael and Paddy will ask Richard Kirsch of Citizen Action about the Listening Project and how one person asked questions and the second person took notes.
