Responsibilities of the Chairperson

CfD Chairpersons are responsible for the following:

- Schedule business meetings, including venues and agendas.
- Facilitate business meetings.
- Communicate with active work groups.
- Encourage and assist work groups, as needed.
- Review CfD position statements, letters, etc.
- Act as spokesperson for CfD when needed.
- Arrange for planning and running of special CfD meetings

The following ought to be organized by other individuals or work groups, but often ends up being the sole responsibility of CfD co-chairs:

- Plan and chair special CfD meetings, including formats, speakers, venues, publicity, etc., with input and assistance from other CfD members
- Manage the listserve
- Check for and respond to emails to CfD
