"A Soldier's Journey: From Marine to Anti-War Activist"

Daniel Black, Iraq veteran, will speak at Hartwick College's Shineman Chapel at 7 PM on Thursday March 6.  His topic will be "A Soldier's Journey:  From Marine to Anti-War Activist." 

Daniel Black joined the Marines in 2000 at the age of seventeen. During his five years of service, he was deployed in Kuwait and then Iraq, where he was stationed on a base on the outskirts of Fallujah. Since his return to the States, he has been studying for a teaching certificate while writing and speaking against the war. He will speak about his experiences in Iraq, as well as his gradual transition to becoming an activist against the Iraq War.
