The Oneonta area weekly Peace Vigil on Main St. Plaza will be reinstated starting this Thursday, March 1, from 4:30-5:30 PM.  The urgent reason for this is to press Congress to take a firm stand opposing the administration's push toward attacking Iran as well as to defund the war in Iraq . Congress is finally discussing our involvement there; now is the critical moment.  Bring signs.  SILENCE IS NOT AN OPTION!

Following this at 6 PM a meeting of the Iraq/Iran group of the Coalition for Democracy of Central New York will be held at the First United Methodist Church, corner of Church and Chestnut Streets.  Chief item on the agenda will be a large event being planned for Sunday, March 18, to bring fuller public attention to these issues.  We are also planning a major local petition drive.  Your ideas and energy are welcome and needed.  See you there!
